Being an Ord Ord
Do you have what it takes to be an ORD ORD?
To be a cadet in the Corps, and in I-1, is no easy task. We demand nothing less than perfection from our freshmen. It will be the hardest year of your life, guaranteed, but also the most fulfilling. The stories and experiences you gather over your four years in I-1 will shape the person you become. Not only is the Corps physically challenging, but mentally so. As an Ord Ord Fish you will learn to cope with stress and how to perservere through the hardest tasks. At the same time, "good bull" is extremely important in I-1, and the stress of daily life is often relieved through intramural sports, outfit barbecues, and I-1 traditions. While it is the Sophomore's job to train the freshmen, the Juniors & Seniors act as mentors and ensure all freshmen are motivated and ready to take on the Corps' challenges.

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13
Arguably the most important quote representing the Corps of Cadets, this feeling of unity and brotherhood is what Company I-1 stands for. If you learn nothing else as a cadet in Company I-1, you will learn the meaning of loyalty and friendship. Any cadet who joins our ranks is entrusted with the mutual agreement to always stand by each other as fellow Ord Ords, as a family. Your buddies will inevitably become your lifelong friends; they will truly "marry you and bury you." To this day, Ord Ords from the very first I-1 class of '72 come to our annual I-1 Reunion Barbeque to catch up with old buddies and pass on stories to the new generations of Ord Ords.
